MONUMENTAL FRENCH MAISON DENIERE BRONZE CLOCK NEPTUNE/POSEIDON: A large gilt & patinated bronze clock by acclaimed French bronzier Deniere depicts Neptune on a shell-shaped chariot drawn by two horses. The Porcelain enamel dial signed, with Roman & Arabic numerals, and finely cut gilt brass hands. Approx. 27.5" h x 17" w x 11" d. Provenance: The consignor states “The Maison-Deniere Poseidon Clock was acquired along with the painting of Beatrice Cenci, (Lot 1219), from Enrique, one of the members of the noble Spanish Alba family from Seville Spain. A mutual friend, Florence Knoll of Knoll Associates, was my contact with Enrique. These items were family possessions that he had”.
