FRENCH MODEL 1866 CHASSEPOT BAYONET & SCABBARD

French bayonet for the Model 1866 Chassepot rifle. This one is signed on the spine St. Etienne and dated February of 1874. 22.5" blade, 28" overall, has an Anchor stamp at the ricasso / quillion. Serial number on blade does not match the serial number on the scabbard. Blade has some wear near the ricasso, and a few dings at the quillion. Scabbard likewise has several age spots, particularly near the throat. Very Good
