The canvas is unlined but has surface crack and stretcher marks. There are several minor scratches and abrasions. Scattered retouching. The monkey appears to have been added at a later date.
The terms 'and later James Perkins' means that the picture has been altered at a later date by the owner of the house, James Perkins, who in this case has had the monkey added to the picture.
