FRENCH VICTORIAN BEDLINEN - Cotton - Early 20th century

It is not often that we have the chance and opportunity to be invited to witness somebody else's private linen collection going back to 1800. The lady in question phone me recently as she had heard that I am passionate about Antique French linen and invited me into her private home which turned out to be a magnificent country home , deep in the country side and not far from where I reside. I do not believe it was the intention that the lady was going to sell to me and she just wanted me to see part of her extensive collection of family linen. It was a dream come through and to cut a long story short she offered me 4 magnificent bed linen as she realised I was so passionate about her "dowry" and armoire full of delicious pieces. This particular piece was a "wedding night " bed linen and it is clearly visible why. It is sumptuous, and I words fail me where to start to describe the magnificent beauty of the bed linen. So we have taken many, many photos for you to study and you will appreciate why it is so extraordinary beautiful; There is so much going on and every piece has been so exquisitely embroidered with so much love and attention to detail. The sides of the bedlinen continue by 75 cm. which in itself is very rare and yes it is a rare piece. ! !
