FRENCH VICTORIAN CROCHET BEDSPREAD - Cotton - Early 20th century

This is a very unusual French crochet bedspread dating back to about 1920 according from the lady we obtained it from near la Provençe. It was crochet buy her grandmother and has been in the armoire since. It is thus in very good condition. They would often be crochet for the wedding of their daughter and took a long time of preparation It is a unusual design in such it can be used either vertically or horizontally. It has a beautiful and very generous border and never seen before. The ladies crochet as they went along and often invented their own ideas and design, which makes each piece so very different.
