FW Papke Austrian Viennese miniature court cupboard, circa 1900, possibly a salesman sample, the carved wood case with tooled details and applied tooled leather panels, the door with painted scene of a reclining woman surrounded by putti playing music and reading. 17” H x 10.75” W x 6.5” D. Note: F.W Papke was a venerable company based in Vienna, renowned for their leatherwork, gallantry and art bookbinding during the monarchy. They were located on Mozartplatz (Mozartgasse 4) in Vienna's 4th district of Wieden. He received the silver medal at the exhibition in Paris in 1894 and at the exhibition in Antwerp in 1894.
