Fabiano Speziari (1977) - A message in a pencil - Not sinning is hard

“A message in a pencil” by Fabiano Speziari is a series of pencils on which messages are written. They are made of solid wood. The varnishing requires several coats of varnish: 3 for the background, 3 for the colour, 2 for the colour of the inscription, and a transparent protective one. The colouring is handmade. Unlike the small 40 cm pencils, these large ones (the first originals that were created) have an LED strip on the back in different colours and with a different type of lighting: slow, fast, soft, intense, intermittent, fixed. The series consists of 9 pieces for each type of pencil, so to all intents and purposes they are unique pieces. This piece at auction is the number 4/9, entitled “Not sinning is hard”. The work will be accompanied by a nice brochure of the artist and shipped in its original wooden crate, as per attached photos.
