Footnotes Bernhard Becker Born in 1950 in Idar-Oberstein, Bernard Becker, son of Karl-Otto Becker, apprenticed as a gemstone engraver with the firm of Georg O. Wild and completed his Masters examination in gem engraving in 1973. He opened his own workshop and gallery in 1974
