Inscribed and signed by Faulkner on the title page: "William Faulkner, New York 5 Feb. 1950. Mr Enoch." Kurt Enoch, founder and publisher of Signet Books, over the years amassed an unprecedented collection of nearly 2,000 Signets, each inscribed to him by the author. Other signatures included James Baldwin, Flannery O'Connor, John Steinbeck, etc.
Condition Report: Light wear and soiling to wrappers, chipping along fore-edge, larger chip to bottom corner of rear wrapper; the usual toning to interior; very good.
