Federal Walnut Firescreen
DESCRIPTION: American walnut fire screen dating from the federal period circa 1790-1820. Round base with an attached turned vertical upright. The screen is made of a single oval piece of walnut with an inlaid pater-eye in the center and black string inlay around the outside edge. The reverse with an adjustable screw to allow for the screen to be moved up or down to the height of the sitter. MEASUREMENTS: 10" x 54-1/2". CONDITION: Wear to wood at clamp.
