Felice Rubbiani (Modena, 1677 - San Pancrazio di Freto, 1752) , attr.
Still life with parrot, fruit and flowers
Oil on canvas, 71 x 97 cm
With frame, 110 x 84 cm

The canvas in question depicts a composite still life of fruits enlivened by a colorful floral bouquet. Arranged on two perspective levels on the first level, a piece of still life of fruit and vegetables where peaches, pears, a trumpet courgette and a melon can be recognised, accompanied by the depiction of an exotic parrot and a lively composition of flowers, among which they are identifiable the roses. The second mezzanine floor is also enriched with fruits (peaches and pears) and a sprig of jasmine flowers. The composition is depicted in an external environment where the black branches of the trees open up to the vision of a clear sky and a body of water in the distance. The painting can be attributed to Felice Rubbiani (Modena, 1677 - San Pancrazio di Freto, 1752) . The painter trained in Bologna with Domenico Bettini and, paraphrasing the biographer Girolamo Tiraboschi in his eighteenth-century collection of information on the artists of the Estense duchy, stood out for his singular talent in painting flowers, fruits and animals with the courage to represent them on graceful backgrounds and live. The canvas in question can be traced back to the artist's catalog and only the delicate color scheme suggests a mature dating, taking into account that the absence of dated works makes it quite difficult to impart a chronological order to his production. The composition expresses an affected grace of rococo taste, with soft and delicate shades of elegant decorative taste.

The frame is provided free of charge, therefore it cannot be a reason for return or complaint.

For paintings purchased abroad: after payment the procedure to obtain the export license (ALC) will be started. All antiques sent abroad from Italy require this document, issued by the Minister of Cultural Heritage. The procedure could take 3 to 5 weeks from the request, therefore, as soon as we have the document the painting will be sent.
