1879 - 1965
Femme allongée au coussin rouge

signed Ch Camoin (lower left)
oil on panel
26.9 by 41.1cm., 10⅝ by 16¼in.
Framed: 50.5 by 64.5cm., 19⅞ by 25⅜in.
Painted in 1928.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Madame Anne-Marie Grammont-Camoin and it will be included in the upcoming Cataloguing raisonné currently in preparation by Les Archives Camoin. A certificate will be issued to the buyer on request.

Condition Report:
The panel is sound. There is a tiny loss to the panel at the centre of the upper edge and one to the lower left corner, that was possibly inherent to the panel at the time of execution. There is some frame rubbing with associated tiny paint losses to parts of the extreme edges. UV inspection reveals some scattered small retouchings in places, most prominently to the upper right quadrant and to the lower part of the right edge. There is some paint shrinkage in places, to parts of the red and purple pigments. There is a tiny paint loss to the centre of the lower left quadrant. This work is in overall good condition.

Provenance:
Collection Général Requin, France (by 1930)
Private Collection, Nagoya, Japan (since 1989)
Acquired from the above by the present owner in 2019
