款識：道光三年仲夏，馮栖霞敬繪。
鈐印：「馮」、「栖霞」。
註：馮箕，字子揚，號栖霞、霞客，浙江杭州人，嘉慶年間客居蘇州，善仕女、人物，傳世作品數量較少，多為仕女，本幅寫南海觀音，洵屬稀見。畫中菩薩踏蓮花底座，揮灑甘露，解眾生苦厄；善財童子、龍女隨侍兩側，白色孝順鸚鵡口銜念珠，盤旋飛翔。馮氏與余集、改琦、費丹旭為同代人，時風所及，多見仕女柔媚之態。本幅題材別具一格，菩薩形象健美，無纖弱之姿，自署「敬繪」，或寓祈福嘉願，筆下一絲不苟，如人物服飾上之暗紋，描劃細緻，精心可見。
