Bildnis Letizia Raviola

signé F. Hodler et daté 1917 (en bas à droite); inscrit a Mademoiselle Laetitia Raviola. 1917. Ferd. Hodler (au dos)
huile sur toile
46,5 x 43 cm; 18¼ x 16⅞ in.
Peint en 1917.

Condition Report:
The work has been examined framed. The canvas is unlined. Inspection under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There is paint shrinkage to the figure's hat and a few very fine lines of craquelure in places, including a line to an area of impasto above the figure's forehead. The areas of impasto are well preserved. There are a few small surface accretions, including spots of discoloured varnish in places. There is a tiny spot of pigment loss in the lower right quadrant (to the left of the date) and there is a small area of undulation in the lower right corner. This work is in overall good condition and could benefit from a clean.
