A beautiful and intense portrait of the artist Carol Rama, signed by Ferdinando Scianna. This portrait was taken in the 2000s at her home in via Napione, 15 Turin where the artist lived for over 70 years. The house is now a museum. This rare and widely quoted work is part of a portfolio that Scianna dedicated to Rama few years before her death in 2015. The photograph features the photographer’s and Magnum agency stamps on the back. This colour picture is a true rarity, as almost all Scianna’s works are in black and white. The beautiful frame in vintage wood enhances this shot even more. Ferdinando Scianna, born in Bagheria in 1943, is considered one of the greatest Italian photojournalists. He was the first Italian photographer to join, in 1982, the international Photo Agency Magnum Photos.
