Ferrarese School - "Annunciation of the Madonna”

Ferrarese School "Annunciation of the Madonna” Attributed to Benvenuto Tisi said Garofolo on the label Ferrara 1481 - Ferrara 1559 Frame high 61 cm - wide 61 cm (the frame is ancient and dates back to the XVIII century) Painting high 48 cm - large 47 cm There are no restorations on the canvas. In good general condition with traces of aging (Work relined and framed as seen in the photos) Provenance: American Collection 1910. We can provide information on previous owners. The information regarding the author reported can be deduced from the label affixed to the frame Provenance Mrs. Cristina Lombardi collection. Small story: the painting, formerly owned by an American lady, Mrs. W. De Forest Thomson. The Lady moved to Rome in 1910 buying Villa S. Salvatore. Later in about 1930, Mrs. Thomson donated about three paintings, to“ Mrs. Maria Pia Picitto Savelli ” ( Mother of Mis. Cristina Lombardi) Mrs. Picitto took care of Mrs. Thomson during her old age. The transfert of the works from the US to Italy was made by Oliver Bross. The following data are shown on the back of the panels: Property of Mrs. W.
