Xi Zeng (1904-1972) est un célèbre calligraphe dont les oeuvres ont été exposées au Japon en 1922. Il était vice-président de l'Académie centrale des Beaux-Arts de Chine, conseil de l'Association des artistes de Chine.
Il rend ici hommage au grand maître Wen Zhengming(1470-1559), calligraphe et poète chinois de la dynastie des Ming. Considéré comme un des quatre maîtres de son époque.

Xi Zeng (1904−1972) is a famous calligrapher whose works were exhibited in Japan in 1922. He was vice-president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts of China, council of the Association of Artists of China.
Here, he pays homage to the old master Wen Zhengming (1470-1559), Chinese calligrapher and poet during the Ming dynasty. Considered one of the four masters of his time, Wen Zhengming was the one for whom artistic attitude best embodies the literary ideal, as much through his character, uncompromising on matters of integrity, as through his literary works, both pictorial and in calligraphy.
