Fever healing Buddha figure - Bronze - Thailand - First half 20th century

An unusual type of Buddha figure, cast bronze, measuring 15. 5cm in height and weighing 1162g, seated on a throne of lotus above a pond containing fish, water plants and turtles. This is a special type of Buddha intended for healing fever. With lotus buds at his shoulders and elbows and a lotus leaf as a hat. The base is decorated with various cooling matters such as water and water plants, etc. This Buddha is usually found in Myanmar but this particular specimen is from Thailand, judging by the casting.
