Fiat - 500 C Trasformabile RHD "NO RESERVE" - 1952

[ translate ]

Rare Fiat 500 C with ‘right-hand drive’. This Fiat was built for the Italian market in 1952, registered in 1953. Few enthusiasts know that right-hand drive was also available in Italy. In fact, before the war many cars had right-hand drive, so Fiat decided to keep it available also in the 1950s on demand for the Italian market. This is a very hard-to-find model, only few left the factory with this rare option. The car comes from the ‘Fiat Lastraioli’ private collection/museum, the largest Fiat dealership in Florence and sponsor of the ‘Trofeo Fiat Lastraioli’ (as shown in photos) , which was closed in the 2000s. In 2017, it was purchased by a collector, who carried out works worth €2300 such as electric restoration of brakes, petrol pump, carburettor seals, master cylinder, wheel bearings, silencer. Invoices are available (please see photos) . It was left unused since 2017 and needs some work, you can drive it in private areas but the engine needs some care. The painting is in reasonable condition but not crisp, it’s an old 1990s restoration. Soft top is resistant with no tears, it opens and closes smoothly. The front chrome grille is a rare option of the time, with badge on the bonnet. Some videos of the car, engine running and road driving are available, please contact Catawiki. The feeler gauge showed no major accidents. The car has Italian number plates and registration (officially de-registered, struck off the register) . Bidders are welcome to view and test the vehicle. It is located in Quarrata 51039, PT, Italy. Please contact Catawiki for an appointment. We can arrange transfer of ownership and exports documents remotely. Affordable shipping throughout Italy, Europe and rest of the world.
