Fiat - 508 Lusso - 1933

[ translate ]

FIAT 508 3M luxury version of the famous Balilla; ASI registered with certification and ASI Targa Oro. Restored in the late 1970s, it was completely disassembled down to the chassis. All the sheet metal is original from when it left the factory. No body parts have been replaced. There are a lot of Balilla cars around that were cut up and turned into trucks during the war and then rebuilt; this is one of the few that wasn’t cut up. New engine plus another spare, 3-speed gearbox plus one spare, spare front axle. The car has been idle for about 2 years but the engine was started periodically; only the oil has to be changed; also, it has been kept raised off the ground so as not to damage the tyres. The mechanics require no work. The car was found in a garage in the mid-1970s, where it had been stored for about 30 years due to a broken drive shaft. It belonged to a doctor who used it to go hunting and it was re-registered in the mid-seventies; originally, it had the BN (Benevento) registration plate. The car is in good condition; it is hard to find one like it. The first outdoor photos were taken a few years ago, and the others are very recent, but there is virtually no difference between what it looked like when it was restored and what it looks like now. It is advisable to view the vehicle before bidding in order to avoid any later disappointment. For a viewing appointment, please contact Catawiki.
