A door lock of the Bambara, for a house or millet granary. Carved from wood. The head, at the top, portrays a typical woman's hairstyle of the Bambara. The rectangular body is decorated with a delicate, geometric lined pattern. At the bottom, two legs complete the portrayal of this whole figure. The whole of the figure has an old patina from use.
