Rare Yombe Healing Figure, A beautifully styled male healing figure sat on the 'wise' tortoise holding a child, with a nice old wear patina, very small stable crack to the tortoise, this can be seen in the photos. A high ranking male figure is portrayed, he is sitting on one leg, his other leg is in a bent position, lying in his hands is the effigy of a child. We can probably conclude from his body posture, that this figure is beseeching for the healing of sick infants, or for the ability of men to father many offspring, or for a better life for the children.
