Figurine(s), Toothpick holder (2) - .800 silver - Europe - Late 19th century

A rare and very interesting pair of toothpicks holders in silver 800/000 made in Europe (likely in Italy) , resting on a square base in the Baroque Revival style. Each of them is embellished with the depiction of a young peasant with a pack basket on the shoulders and a bucket in each hand. These masterly made figures in silver foil are amazingly preserved. Both items date back to the late 19th century. Both show the following hallmarks: 800 and GD. Weight: 181 grams Height: 14 cm Base width: 7 cm.
