Autograph Edition, #266/750, signed by John Burroughs and the publisher, and with John Burroughs Autograph Letter Signed window mounted in volume 1. 8vo, contemporary quadruple gilt fillet paneled full green crushed niger morocco, gilt corner ornaments, center cover gilt ornaments - surrounding, on the front cover, a perching song bird in gilt on an inlaid purple-brown morocco disc, richly gilt foliate spine compartments, top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed, inner dentelles gilt, richly gilt purple-brown morocco doublers with the coat of arms of Anna W. S. Keator, silked brown free endpapers, raised bands; back joint of volume 17 starting to separate, other scattered minor wear, spine of volumes 20-23 faded to brown, by The Riverside Press bindery. Additionally inscribed to Anna W. S. Keator and signed in volume 1 by John Burroughs. Photo frontispieces, other plates. Internally clean. Lacking volume 15, but Burroughs' pencil autograph manuscript and corrected type script for his "The Hungrey Sheep" widow mounted in a volume uniformly bound with the above set.
