dial inscribed Aaron Willard, reverse inscribed John Minot 216 and Cleaned Nov 5/97 C.A.U. Crosby & Son 5 1/2. Appear to retain its original brass finials. Proper right fretwork likely a 19th century replacement.With 11 ½-inch painted metal chapter dial with Roman and Arabis numberals indicated by shaped hands and enclosing a subsidiary sweep seconds dial and elliptical date window, beneath a phases-of-the-moon creating, set before an 8-day weight-driven movement.
Height 91 1/2 in. by Width 20 in. by Depth 10 in.

Condition Report:
Proper left fretwork likely a 19th century replacements, with two later patch repairs. Proper left finial plinth likely replaced. Proper left bottom molding with a 4 1/2 in. long loss to its lower lip. Scattered or age cracks to the case and with some separation to joins. Two cracks, approximately ( 31/2 inches and 4 1/2 inches) to proper right side above and below glass pane.
The Works:
In good overall condition. Minor rubbing to the paint decoration.
The back of the dial sign John Minot 216 and with inscription 'Cleaned Nov 5/97 C. AU (?) Crosby & Son'
The Case:
Well-maintained appearance. Scattered old cracks from age. Diagonal crack to base approximately 17 inches. With likely original pendulum, two weights, three keys, and one modern winding. Inside of case inscribed in period chalk behind works Willard.
