Fine Filipino Ifugao Tribal Spear Blade

Southeast Asia, Philippines, Ifugao, ca. mid-20th century CE. A finely-built and extremely-sharp steel spear blade with a raised midrib on either face and a gradually-tapering point. Its socketed end is fashioned from two lateral flanges curved together to form a shaft. A pair of braided reed strips adorn the top and bottom of the socketing end; these are solely for aesthetic appeal. This example would have been mounted on a lengthy pole and used for any number of tribal practices. 14.9" L x 2.2" W (37.8 cm x 5.6 cm)
