Fine Italian Carved Walnut Figural Cabinet in the Renaissance Taste
late 19th century, in two parts, the upper section with a carved putto atop an arched cornice with a carved frieze, with ram's heads at each corner, the molded frame fronting an interior with glass shelves and having a single sliding glass door, the upper case flanked by fully carved allegorical figures, one a falconer with powder horn and game, the other depicting the bounty of the harvest, holding aloft a cornucopia overflowing with produce and grasping a net with fish in his other hand, on a base with a pair of drawers over doors, flanked by lion-carved pilasters with paw feet, the rounded corners with like door panels, the panels each carved as an allegorical figure's head and torso depicting the seasons.

Condition Report: In overall very good condition. There is a 5" piece of crown molding missing at the top left side. A small pieced-in repair to the front arched crown, approximately 1/2". There is a small carving loss under the left ram's head and a larger carving loss under the right ram's head. The carved game bird under the right figure is lacking a wing tip. There is a small 2" piece of trim gone at the left rear mid-section. The left curved drawer has part of the brass key-pull missing. The right side wing has a small loss to one of the carved flowerheads. Minor dings and imperfections to the desk from use. Retains a warm patina.
