Fine Japanese Hammered Silver Teapot 8''x7''. A heavy hand hammered teapot with silver wrapped handle. Impressed fan maker's mark on bottom. It weighs 579 grams of fine sterling silver. Some missing wrap to handle. Note on inside states this was a gift from the Governer of the Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Early to mid 20th century, Meiji or Taisho period. Similar to a Tetsubin or Chosi kettle.
