Fine Matthew Egerton Federal Tall clock, bonnet with signature star punch motif, three gilded finials, stripe inlay, and gilded rosettes. Case with corner columns, banded and other geometric inlay. Hand painted moon phase dial. Original label on inside of door reading ”Matthew Egerton Cabinetmaker, in Burnett St, New Brunswick N.J.”. with weights, pendulum, key and winding key. 95”H, bonnet 19.5”W x 10.5”D.
Condition Report: the case is in very good original condition with the exception of old repair work done to the feet, patch to swans neck back facing original, pierced bonnet backed with fabric some holes however wood work not damaged, dial of clock with some flaking but original paint, works restored in 2007 by The British Clockmaker, VT, see paperwork.
