Note: A similar inkstand sold by The Trustees of The Harewood Charitable Trust, Christie's, London, April 10, 1986, lot 58. Another one was sold in the same rooms on November 19, 1992, lot 5, and a further example with the coat of arms of George Pochin, Barkby Hall or Edmondthorpe Hall, Leicestershire, was sold on July 7, 1994, lot 5.

Condition Report: Overall wear. Surface losses overall, more extensive to the chamberstick. The mounts detached from the cut glass vessels, the sander with a chip to the foot and other losses. A few minor age splits to the wood. Otherwise in good condition.
