This hefty twenty-six-pound meteorite end piece is a bold and striking example from the now famous meteorite locality. It displays a strong Widmanstatten pattern and gunmetal gray patina on the natural side, as well as a rare meteoritic iron inclusion within the body of a carbon troilite inclusion. Adding to its aesthetic appeal, a large natural hole lends a sculptural quality. The meteorites from this 800,000-year-old strewn field may have inspired the legend of Thor's hammer's cosmic origins; ancient cultures around the globe used meteoritic iron to fashion weapons for their elite.
