Fireplace accessory - Brass, Bronze, Iron (cast)

Beautiful pair of French doors, or firewalls, with their black frame from the mid-19th century, from a Parisian bourgeois residence.
Very beautiful flower and foliage patterns. 4 lion heads, flames, and acanthus leaves. Very elegant openwork doors with double patina, gold and satin black.
The whole thing is mainly made of brass, with a nice discreet shine reminiscent of bronze. The lions are probably made of bronze.
The patterns stand out against the black background with a beautiful contrast.

Good condition. No shortage. The mechanical parts are solid and have been serviced in our workshop, all cleaned. Opening the doors is easy.

Note: a pattern under the head of a lion is cut in two but complete and does not rotate, it is almost invisible. Slight pitting on the black patina probably due to old corrosion but very barely visible. Here again this does not take away from the charm of this beautiful object. Rare dents. 4 holes from old fixings, very discreet.

No pattern is missing.

The doors are removable and each measure 23x58 cm.

This set is original, in good condition and very elegant.

These doors were once intended to be placed in front of a fireplace in order to decorate it while allowing heat and light to pass through. The last photos present examples of scenarios in a bourgeois residence in Paris, on a real fireplace or on a simple wall. Today we can use it to decorate any interior wall, old or modern, or make a false fireplace.

Very careful packaging with insurance. UPS transport for this heavy (22kg) and bulky object.
