Rare first edition. The work is divided into five parts: The materials treaty; the fires of earth, air and water; the aerostatic fires; the fires for the theater; the fireworks. The part dedicated to the theater contains several specific applications. At the end there is a vocabulary with the technical terms used in the book. The Ruggieri, originally from Bologna, were a family of famous pyrotechnists: they settled for a long time in France, setting up shows for Louis XV, Louis XVI and Napoleon.
