First written in Spanish, this 16th-century title (Ciento y Diez Consideraciones) was translated into both Italian and French, before finally being translated into English in the first half of the 17th century. The author, Juan de Valdés (Spanish, ca. 1490-1541) was a humanist, author, and Catholic reformer. After leaving Spain due to the threat of the Spanish Inquisition, he spent the rest of his life in Naples.

Condition Report: Boards scuffed, with significant edgewear, small losses to leather, and cracking at joints; light cracking at front hinge, binding still sturdy; pages lightly toned with minimal foxing and occasional small chip or frayed bottom edge; damp stains throughout.
