Five first editions from Chicago writer Nelson Algren. Two inscribed by author and all in original dust jackets. Algren is likely best known for The Man with the Golden Arm, a 1949 novel that won the first National Book Award, and was adapted as a 1955 film of the same name starring Frank Sinatra.

Notes from a Sea Diary. 1965. (Jacket has wear on ends of spine with flaking and loss; hole in upper right corner of front free endpaper)

The Man with the Golden Arm. 1949. (Jacket worn with loss on ends of spine; light soiling to edges of toned textblock)

Nelson Algren's own book of Lonesome Monsters. 1963. Algren is editor. Includes stories by Saul Bellow, Joseph Heller, Thomas Pynchon, and George P. Elliott. (Jacket slightly worn to ends of spine)
