Five Russian Imperial Porcelain Manufactory Soup Plates from the Gatchina Palace Service Russian Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, various dates 9-5x8 inches (24.4 cm) (each) PROVENANCE: Acquired Sotheby's, New York, 1990s; Prince and Princess Alexander Romanoff; Princess Maria Romanoff. This service, called the "Everyday service with the Arms and Gilt Rims" was originally commissioned in 1820 by Alexander I (1801-1825) for use at Gatchina Palace, and the service was expanded between 1825 and 1913.
