Flemish School, 17th century Flemish School, 17th century Head of a man - a fragment of a larger composition oil on canvas laid down, oval 38 x 30cm, in a swan-carved gilt frame Condition Report: overall: 57.5 x 38cm The painting is executed in oil on a canvas support which has been mounted onto panel. The canvas is well attached to the board. The paint layers have a network of age cracks which are prominent across the surface. The paint layer is stable and secure. A scuff in the paint layer at the lower edge has been retouched. The varnish is glossy and even with a layer of surface dirt present.
