Floor lamp from the 1950s probably produced by Esperia based on a design by Angelo Brotto, The object has a marble base and a brass frame with different position adjustment mechanisms also in brass. The hat is in tin and the milk glass diffuser is original as well as the peculiar brass pins for attachment to the hat. The attribution of this lamp is uncertain since the style for which Angelo Brotto is remembered is subsequent to that which characterizes this model and there is no official archive of the designer even if some models are officially recognized by convention and for publications in company catalogs . The materials used match the quality ones used by Esperia, a company for which Angelo Brotto was creative director for many years. Probably this lamp was made in the early years of Brotto in Esperia and far precedes the period of quasars and bronzes. This would justify the absence from the company catalogs (printed from the late 60s onwards) and the style closer to the midcentury as well as to the space age design with contamination from the Murano glassworks. A very important detail is the presence of the original speaker, absent in almost all the models found in the research and comparison phase. It seems that this, until denied, is the only truly complete lamp in this series.
