The ceramics of Manises, in the Valencian Community (Spain) , is represented by the varied factory of this important focus of pottery, which from a china and earthenware shop, traditional since the 14th century, has evolved towards the production of various types of pastes. ceramics (fine earthenware, majolica, porcelain, stoneware) .
In the 18th century, the influence of the neighboring Royal Earthenware and Porcelain Factory of Alcora led to the abandonment of traditional Hispano-Moorish resources of metallic reflection, introducing bright polychromes and intense blue in the decoration.
Specifically, 55 pieces of tiling with floral motifs are offered, in a 20 × 20 centimeter format and a thickness of 12-14 millimeters.
Being manufactured by hand, there are variations between the pieces, both in the marking of the drawing and in the colors.
They come from a farmhouse from the beginning of the 18th century that has currently changed owners and is undergoing an interior renovation with a change in architectural style.
