Biography from Wickliff & Associates Auctioneers, Inc.: Flora Lauter (b. 1874, NY - d. 1952, IN) Studied at Indiana School of Art and John Herron in addition to Chase School of Art and Henri School of Art, both of NY. Studied under T.C. Steele, William Forsyth, J. Ottis Adams, William Merritt Chase, among others. Ms. Lauter exhibited in Paris , New York , Indianapolis and Chicago. Collections of her art are represented at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, Indiana Memorial Union Collection, Indiana University , and the Louise and Alan Sellars Collection of Art by American Women. She painted in Spain, France, Ireland, England, Italy, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland as well as Canada, Portsmouth NH and Gloucester MA.
