Florence Henri (1893-1982) Gouache

[ translate ]

Gouache with traces of pencil on wove paper, untitled abstract (Le Bateau), signed* (Florence Henri, 1893-1982). 9 x 11 7/8 inches. Dated 1923. Very good condition overall, having no apparent tears or repairs. Sold unframed.

Provenance: Believed to have been acquired in France directly from the artist by the consignor's family, together with a group of black and white photographs by Henri. The consignor's family spent several years in France in the 1950s and 60s, and were apparently introduced to Henri by relatives living in Switzerland at the time. The consignor believes that the present work was acquired prior to 1965.
