'Flota Boat' boxed British plastic 'Unsinkable Bath Toy', a 'Projects Product', circa 1950–55, scarce early post-war British moulded-plastic floating bath toy marketed as the 'Flota Boat', retaining its remarkably uncommon original pictorial cardboard box, England, probably circa 1950–55, the shallow moulded boat is finished in muted blue-green and formed with a recessed central well, above which runs a curved brown transverse/longitudinal rail carrying a series of freely mounted coloured cylindrical and disc-shaped elements in olive green, orange and ochre, these colourful moving elements roughly correspond with those illustrated on the original box and appear to have been intended to provide additional visual and tactile play as the vessel floated and moved in the bath, the bow carries the original circular printed label depicting a comic sailor-seagull within a lifebuoy and lettered 'FLOTA BOTE', approximately 170 mm long × 50 mm wide, packaging identifies the product more conventionally as: 'FLOTA BOAT – UNSINKABLE BATH TOY', the end panel: 'ANOTHER PROJECTS PRODUCT, VERY LATEST IN PLASTIC TOYS. MADE IN ENGLAND.'
