Fluorapophyllite Dark Green Doubly Terminated Pune District, Maharashtra, India "A 2.5 inch doubly terminated floater bow tie of sharp, dark green apophyllite with a few sharp bladed white stilbites growing on it. I have never seen its equal. Bought the specimen from Fashi [sic] Makki in Poona." - Rock H. Currier When the first of the striking, green Apophyllites hit the market, they caused an understandable uproar, since the coloration was S-O-O-O-O different. Even today, they bring premium prices for Indian minerals. Rock imported literally tons of zeolites from India, being one of the first dealers to do so. As a result, he KNEW what a 'good one' looked like. That's why this one ended up in his personal collection. Overall Measurements: 2.4 x 1.2 x 1.2 inches (6.0 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Fasi Makki [RHC #1765, acquired 1974] Publications: Rock H. Currier (1976), The Production of Zeolite Mineral Specimens from the Deccan Basalt in India. Mineralogical Record 7 (5), Figure 1, page 248. MinID 2FY-94D [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
