Fluorite, Quartz La Viesca Mine, Huergo, La Collada mining area, Siero, Asturias, Spain 6.4 x 5.4 x 3.1 cm (2.52 x 2.13 x 1.22 in) A small cluster of well-formed cubic Fluorites, with the most complete crystal presented at the center of the specimen and reaching a respectable 3.2 centimeters across the edge. Characteristic of La Viesca’s incredible selection of Fluorites, each crystal in this piece is complemented with beveled edges and a high degree of transparency, lending itself well to backlighting; while the Fluorite’s interior is relatively colorless, the crystals get most of their color from sharp, purple zoning at the center of each face.
