112 x 154cm framed The painting is executed in oil on a linen canvas support which has an early lining. The canvas tension is slightly slack but the picture is in plane overall. At the upper right corner (when viewed from the reverse), there is a canvas patch covering an old tear. The paint layers are in a stable condition overall. In the darker paint passages in the foreground, age cracks have slightly raised edges. There are localised areas of overpaint across the surface covering old losses and damages. The overpaint is slightly darkened but acceptable from a normal viewing distance. The varnish is clean, even and semi-glossy. There is a layer of dust and fine debris across the surface.
