Stretcher marks are visible. There is an area of paint loss and subsequent over-paint to the lower left edge, this is visible in natural light and has left a red blemish to the canvas which can be seen in the online and catalogue illustrations (approx. 10cm overall). There is a similar area of over-paint upper right of the the Madonna's hand (approx. 4cm square). Some in-filling to the craquelure also visible in natural light. Inspection under UV reveals scattered retouching and in-filling throughout together with a thick green cloudy vanish.Condition Report Disclaimer
