Follower of Guido Reni (Italian, 1575-1642), oil on canvas depicting the penitent Mary Magdalene, with her gaze turned upward, she holds her left hand to her heart and her right hand raised with open palm; before her, a skull rests atop an open book. Image: 30.25" H x 23.25" W; frame: 34.5" H x 27.5" W x 1.75" D. Paper label with conservation information affixed to frame reverse: "Treated by Georgette Grosz / Chicago, Illinois / April 1983." Removed from the Fifth Avenue residence of the MacArthur Family.
