The frame labelled to the back: James Wyatt carver, picture framer and Looking-glass manufacturer 115 High Street Oxford. James Wyatt was a prominent figure in Oxford's public life for 38 years. A prominent figure in not just artistic circles, he was also elected Sheriff of Oxford for 1839/40.
