The edges have been further reinforced with strips of fabric attached to the reverse. The canvas has minor undulations, notably at the top and bottom. The paint layers are stable and secure. Overpaint has been applied to cover abrasion, paint cracks and to reinforce the outlines in the composition. The overpaint is mainly in the lower half, it is reasonably well matched to the original and carefully applied in most areas. The varnish is clear, even and semi-matte.
