Numerous versions of the present work exist, all of which follow an original design by Pieter Brueghel the Elder, en grisaille, which was bequeathed to The Courtauld Gallery, London and engraved in the same sense by Petrus Perret in 1579. Versions also exist by Pieter Brueghel the Younger or his workshop, including one in the John G. Johnson Collection, Museum of Art, Philadelphia (acc.no. J423).
